What this EPF calculator shows

  • Estimated EPF balance after the projection period.
  • Total employee EPF contributions.
  • Total employer contributions retained in EPF.
  • Employer amount routed to EPS and estimated EPF interest.

EPF and EPS method

The calculator applies the entered employee and employer rates to monthly basic salary plus dearness allowance. From the employer contribution, it routes 8.33% of wages up to the selected EPS ceiling to EPS; the remainder is counted in EPF.

Interest is estimated monthly from a running EPF balance using the annual rate divided by 12. PF wage grows once per year at the selected rate. The EPS amount is displayed separately and is not added to EPF maturity because EPS is a pension component, not an interest-bearing EPF balance.

Read Paisaseed’s guide to the EPF passbook employee, employer, and pension share before reconciling the estimate.

Important payroll and EPFO differences

The normal statutory contribution rate is commonly 12%, but establishment rules, wage restrictions, voluntary provident fund, international-worker status, excluded-employee status, and higher-pension arrangements can differ. Enter the structure shown by payroll.

Verify the contribution structure against the official EPFO scheme page, EPS page, and your own payroll records.

EPF interest is declared for each financial year and posted under EPFO accounting rules. A constant rate and monthly-credit model will not exactly reproduce posting dates, annual credit, non-contributory periods, transfers, withdrawals, taxable-interest rules, or payroll rounding.

The default Rs. 15,000 EPS wage ceiling is not suitable for every higher-pension case. Those cases need a statement-based calculation.

Common questions

Why is the employer contribution not fully added to EPF?

For an eligible EPS member, part of the employer share is generally routed to EPS. The remaining employer contribution is credited to EPF.

Does VPF change the employer contribution?

Usually, an extra voluntary employee contribution does not require an equal employer increase. Raise only the employee rate if that matches payroll.

Can this match my EPFO passbook exactly?

No. Use it for scenarios. Contribution months, wage records, transfers, withdrawals, annual interest posting, and corrections make the passbook authoritative.
